Georgian Public Assembly
The country is in a severe political crisis and the existing political system is unable to overcome this crisis. In this situation, it is especially important to consolidate various groups of society and search for a consensus on ways out of the situation - to create a mechanism that involves various interest groups in the decision-making process, along with political groups, turns them into proactive subjects, redistributes responsibility so that through fair elections the country could return to the constitutional framework and to the path of European integration.
The experience of the First Republic
The Georgian National Assembly of 1917 is a historical example of this. In that difficult period, our ancestors, despite sharp political contradictions, found a common language and, in order to avoid chaos in the country, convened the Georgian National Assembly, which included representatives of various interest groups of Georgia.
The mandate of the National Assembly, held on November 19-24, 1917, was not to change the government, but to achieve public consensus during the crisis of legitimacy, “to create a foundation on which the building of free cultural development of our people will be erected”. To this end, it is necessary to “unite both national and international forces” and to form an appropriate mechanism.
As a result, the National Council elected by the Assembly declared independence and held the first democratic elections in the history of Georgia. Our republic is the result of this National Assembly.
Georgian Public Assembly and the New National Conference
The aim of the National Assembly should be to establish a center of power in society, the Public Assembly; In the current crisis situation, the search for a social consensus and the formation of mechanisms based on it that:

Together with Western partners, we will discuss the real actions needed to return the country to the path of European integration, which will allow us to bring our homeland back into the sphere of Western civilization.
This will lay the foundation for a model of power distribution that in the future will minimize its concentration in one point, create a real mechanism for decentralization of power and a fair trial, so that all citizens feel protected and their sovereignty can be truly realized;
It will facilitate a broad public debate on the development of the country.
