Society Mtskheta

The Mtskheta Municipal Public Assembly is launching an initiative to provide residents of Mtskheta’s villages with reliable and accessible information — through a local newspaper called “Society Mtskheta.”

This is a monthly newspaper, prepared entirely free of charge by journalists and members of civic groups. The newspaper is intended for people who do not have access to the Internet or use it rarely — therefore, a printed edition is important both for them and for the broader public interest, as it delivers news about local events, citizens’ problems, and national developments.

What are we planning?

• Printing 2,000 copies of the newspaper

• Distribution in villages, markets, and public spaces

• Presentation of the first issue on May 26, on Rustaveli Avenue
  
  

Why do we need your support?

All work on collecting materials, editing, and layout is done voluntarily.
We only need funds for printing — 1,500 GEL per issue.

The first issue will include:

• News from Mtskheta Municipality

• Letters about local problems

• Updates on civic movements

• Announcements of competitions

• Interviews, opinion columns, and feature articles

The newspaper is prepared by the Regional Interest Group of the Georgian Public Assembly, together with members of the Mtskheta Municipal Public Assembly and active citizens.
